ABOUT ME

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #143028 in the state of California. I began my experience in the field by working with neurodivergent individuals and providing behavioral strategies to improve communication skills. During my Master’s program in Clinical Psychology: Marriage and Family Therapy, I became passionate about working from a trauma-informed approach after providing residential mental health support at a migrant shelter for children who were separated from their parents. I continued my training at community mental health sites such as Douglas Young Youth and Family Services and The Help Group Full Service Partnership where I provided wraparound treatment for children and families with acute trauma and dual diagnoses, and received training further training in providing trauma-informed care, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, The CASE Approach, and Motivational Interviewing.

Over the past few years, I have dedicated myself to intensive training in a comprehensive practice to further my experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, including DBT for adolescents and children. Under the training of Marsha Linehan’s Behavioral Tech with Leslie Kaworski-Anderson, PhD and Jo Berg, PhD, I learned the core foundations of DBT. I am also trained in DBT for Adolescents by Alex Miller, PhD and Jill Rathus, PhD and DBT for Children by Francheska Perepletchikova, PhD.

MY APPROACH

I integrate evidence-based practices and a trauma-informed approach along with family systems, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy modalities. Employing the CASE Approach safety assessment and Motivational Interviewing, I tailor my approach to meet you where you are at and enhance your commitment to your goals. I am committed to delivering the highest quality care and prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship through a non-judgmental approach. As someone with a diverse cultural background, I provide a culturally sensitive perspective and ally with the LGBTQIA+, BIPOC communities.
